What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. That's why all new models in our showroom come with keyless entry and start. This allows you to start your car and begin driving, while keeping the key fob in your pocket or purse.
The system is controlled by proximity sensors in the doors, trunks and key fobs. Here are some things you should be aware of Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
An Audi with proximity detection allows you to enter and start your car without ever needing to take the key from your purse or pocket. This authorization and access system works through automatic data exchange between your convenience key and the vehicle which allows you to open the trunk and doors, and even activate the engine with a single click on your key.
A proximity sensor based on sound is also known as a capacitive proximity sensor, makes use of acoustic waves to detect the presence of objects near. The sensors produce an oscillator-generated signal. This signal is then transmitted into the air by a microphone which transforms it into an audio file. The audio files are examined to determine how similar they are and how close they are. If they are similar enough that the system sends a wake-up signal to key and send an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
The first step toward a more convenient driving environment is proximity detection. The Audi advanced key also comes with a remote start capability, which allows you to initiate your vehicle's engine beyond the range of your key FOB. This can be helpful when you're taking groceries out of the trunk, placing children in their seats or packing for a family trip.
Audi pre sense basic is a safety feature which helps you to avoid accidents by taking action before an accident occurs. It combines the data of several other systems, including the front camera and radar sensors of Audi side assist to determine the probability of a collision and warn drivers. It also allows automatic braking at speeds up to 250 km/h (155.3) and alert the driver via messages in the head-up and virtual cockpit display.

2. Authentication
The Audi advanced key system is directly connected to the car's sensors when you press the lock button on your key fob. This sends a code to the car's system that confirms that the key fob is an authorized key fob. This safeguards against any entry into the vehicle without the proper key fob.
The key fob can be used to also start the vehicle from pockets or purses. The Audi advanced key system makes use of proximity sensors inside the trunk lid and doors and an electronic radio-frequency generator inside the key fob. The sensors open the doors when the key fob is close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). Then, when you pull the door handle or open the trunk the vehicle detects your key and begins the engine.
You can also utilize your key fob to activate the start-up feature of your vehicle's push button. If the key fob is in of your pocket or purse it is possible to press the Start/Stop button in the center console to engage the engine. The car's sensors check the key fob's authenticity, and once it is confirmed the engine will begin.
The Audi advanced key system also has a keyless entry feature that lets you open your vehicle's doors by simply pressing the handle on the outside of the door. This makes it incredibly practical when your hands are full or wearing gloves, like when you're bringing groceries or kids into the vehicle. The system comes with a trunk-release button that allows you to open the trunk with the kick motion. This is a great feature for when you're carrying a lot of food items or children into the vehicle.

3. Keyless Entry
Keyless entry systems can be a great convenience when you are carrying your kids, groceries or gear. You can unlock your car simply by pressing a button, or a sensor on the door handle (some models have this technology built right into the lock). If you're carrying a key fob, it'll send a signal to activate the vehicle's sensors to let it know you are nearby and that your hand is at the button. This can prevent unauthorised use of your vehicle by ensuring that only you can open the doors.
Another feature commonly offered by keyless entry systems is the possibility to remote start your car without the use of a key. Sensors in the tailgate or trunk, and sometimes in the doors of the vehicle are used to accomplish this. These sensors will turn on the engine of the vehicle and open the doors when the fob is within the distance of the car, typically around 5 feet. Then, you press an appropriate button to start your vehicle. This is a great technique to warm up your car before you leave in the morning for work or when it is cold outside.
Some of the most advanced versions of keyless entry don't require the use of a key fob. These cars can be unlocked and started with a smartphone app. This is a great option for business owners and families who wish to provide their employees with an easy way to access vehicles for business. Certain keyless entry systems even remember the driver's preferred seating position or cabin temperature. This can be a huge time saver when you're pulling towards the parking area.
Some of the most advanced versions of keyless entry systems come with a touch-activated rear hatch function that will automatically close and secure your cargo space by a simple tap of your foot. This technology is available in many Audi models and can be offered as a standard feature, or an upgrade depending on the model. These systems are not 100% secure, and they can be hacked by thieves who have some technical knowledge.

Audi, unlike many other vehicle brands that offer remote starting in the factory, doesn't offer audi a4 spare key it. Audi offers a second option with similar features to remote start, dubbed the Audi Advanced Key.
